The Mongolian Ambassador to Hungary has long known that cashmere products and carpets made from Mongolian wool, with patterns that reflect the nation's cultural heritage and special traditions, have won the favor of international consumers. Premium quality cashmere, wool, leather and wood products made in Mongolia are imported not only to Debrecen and Hungary, but also to the whole of Europe.

How are culture and economy related? István Puskás, Deputy Mayor of Culture of Debrecen, answered this question, reminding that the city has a long tradition of intertwining the strands of culture, economy and education. Debrecen has always been a trading city, an educational and cultural center at the same time. In keeping with these traditions, the city still has strong ties with many countries, cultures and economies around the world.

László Horváth, Member of Parliament and President of the Hungarian-Mongol Friendship Group, believes that Mongolia would be among the first in the world economy. “This wonderful native country has many traditional treasures besides raw materials that could have a very good chance of bidding on the international markets. I have experienced that the meat of Mongolian animals is the cleanest in the world. If there’s anything the world is looking for today, it’s clean, chemical and additive-free food”, he said.
